Day 5 - Artesia, CA to Bakersfield, CA, show in Fresno, CA - We left the venue about midnight to drive to Bakersfield. I was driving and Dan was giving me directions. We were on CA 101 and were to get on I-5 north. I double checked with Dan and he was sure, so on I drove. He fell asleep, I kept on driving, never saw I-5. Finally, he woke and I asked how long it was supposed to take til we reached I-5.

"What did we just pass?"

"We're in Santa Barbra." I was tired and didn't realize that I had been driving well over two hours! We had gone totally out of the way. I had Dan take over driving because I was tired. We got to Bakersfield and got a couple of hours of sleep before we got up to drive the rest of the way to Fresno.

P.S. Bakersfield smelled real bad for some reason. Load in went well today. I was pleased considering it was only the second show. It was put on by Jesus Shack. Met Jake and Matt.

Day 4 - Artesia, CA - First show of the tour. As expected, Bleach was surprised and exited to see me. Set-up was a bit rough, but not too bad. The weather is nice, but I haven't really seen any of the city. Everything went well, considering it was the first show.

Day 3 - Winslow, AZ to Artesia, CA - Although we had already crossed the continental divide, it was Flagstaff, AZ where we really saw mountains. We saw them all the rest of the way to CA. We stopped for lunch in Kingman, AZ then drove through the Mojave desert. We drove into LA around 6:00 p.m. local time.

Day 2 - Amarillo, TX to Winslow, AZ - Drove to Albuquerque then on to Winslow, AZ where we stayed for the night. The southwest is nice.

Day 1 - Mt. Vernon, IL to Amarillo, TX - We left Mt. Vernon after lunch about 12:30 p.m., drove I-64 through St. Louis, got on I-44, stopped in Tulsa, drove through Oklahoma City, got on I-40, and drove to Amarillo, TX, where we stopped for the night about 2:30 a.m.
